Aubrey doesn't like me to encourage this, but I just can't help it. Ethan loves sharing his Cheerios with Padfoot. And of course Padfoot is more than happy to oblige.
Sometimes I feel like I have two kids. Right now, it feels like the only time things are easy between these two is at mealtime when Ethan is sitting in his highchair.
Ethan loves Padfoot. Screaming, over-the-top love. Screaming, squealing, fur pulling, tail grabbing, chasing around the room love.
Don't get me wrong. Padfoot is the kig of patience. Occasionally he'll get Ethan back with a serious face licking. And, since Padfoot weighs 120 lbs his face lickings are quite powerful. Of course they always leave Ethan rolling on the floor and squealing with delight, chasing the poor dog around for more.
Which is when Padfoot makes a run for the door to be let outside (read: escape) or for the stairs where he is safe behind the gate (read: escape).
I love watching them together and even more than that, I love that my kid is going to grow up with this big dog who just loves him so much. Especially if he keeps slipping him food under the table.
