So I've decided to keep track. I took a few moments to count my unfinished projects this morning, and there are sixteen. Sixteen! Yikes. To be precise, that's five quilts, seven scrapbooks, two knit sweaters, and two patchwork dolls. It seems I have a lot of work to do to meet my goal.
But look! I've already finished two of the quilts. And now they are ready for some serious use.
This one is Ethan's baby quilt. I started it back in the fall at the quilt retreat in Silver City. I made matching quilts for Ethan and Zachary. Of course Zachary's is long since finished and sent of to him, but Ethan's sat unfinished for months. But here it is in all it's green, brown and caribou glory. The women at the quilt store could not dream of a baby quilt made from these fabrics. "It's too grown up!" they said. But I love it.
The second is one of two "Summer Quilts". I bought the Urban Chicks jelly rolls last spring when I was all sick and pregnant and feeling like I wanted easy projects. But then they sat in the sewing room for months. I pieced the quilts over the winter while Ethan was napping. And I finally got the courage to machine quilt this one recently. I love how it turned out. Fun and colourful and perfect for summer.
So I have two projects completed, fourteen to go!
And my next project to tackle is this unfinished photo album from our road trip last summer:
