Aubrey's friend from work just had twins and their friends are putting together quilts for the babies. Aubrey, Ethan and I made two blocks. We were inspired by the quilt that my Haines Junction quilting friends made for Ethan, so we stuck with the insect theme. We simply searched for lady bug and bumblebee clip art and came up with these cute, easy patterns. I held Ethan on my lap when I was doing the one-handed applique and he was totally into it. He was just mesmerized by the sound of the machine and motion of the fabric. Of course, I had to be extra careful with his little hands! I used the self timer function on my camera to take the pictures of us sewing.
